Box Elder Beetle Treatments
Box Edler Beetles are common throughout North America, especially in our corner of S.E. Ontario. They are a native species and sometimes are referred to as “stink bugs”. However, a relative of stink bugs Box Elder Beetles do not stink, although they can use their scent to deter predators.

Background: Box Elder Beetles
The natural habitat of Box Elder Beetles is hidden in leaf litter, under rocks and logs, and in other natural crevices. They tend to swarm on flat surfaces that attract heat and do not pose a threat. As their name implies, they feed on Box Elder tree seeds as well as Maple and Ash trees. Because the burrow they can cause some damage to plants.
